6.5: Interlude 6: Prolationem
I think that people are all capable of receiving the same message. The differences we have come into play when we start to interpret that message for ourselves.
The Quote
“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” – Martin Luther King Jr.
My Thoughts
Let me start by saying that this quote is timeless. It embraces a mindset as well as a tactic that takes into account how actions will affect the future. Too much of anything will eventually lead to a disaster. It does not matter if the conflict is internal or external a paradigm that includes balance is useful for resolving any situation especially when the outcome has to deal with more than just yourself.
Opposing aspects like darkness and light, indifference and love, hate and kindness, or war and peace all have their place within us. Living your life and dealing with things in the same way that they are presented to you mutes any result that you intend to be long-lasting. When you fight fire with fire the one garmented outcome you are going to get when it is all said and done is ashes.
A balanced response to conflict leaves the opportunity to rebuild and or heal after that conflict is over. Until next time, I am Nolan Ex Tenebris.
