20.5: Interlude 20: Axioma

Philosophy: the study of the fundamental nature of knowledge, reality, and existence. I am not trying to offend anyone’s profession or hobby, but philosophy is prospective meets experience meets a line of thought; it is something people do every day that has no wrong answers, but the answers always reveal the mind of the one providing the answer.

The Question:

Can predestination and free will coexist?

My Answer:

If predestination is the forgone knowledge of all things, and free will is the ability to make choices for oneself, then from the perspective of people (us mere mortals), the two coexist nicely.

With all due consideration to what the human mind can do, within the constraints of reality as we know it there is only one predestination event that each of us will experience, death. Until that fateful moment happens, the choices we make are all up to us.

To answer the question using thoughts beyond the scope of your own mortality changes it from philosophical to theological, and that is a completely different subject to consider an answer for. Until next time, I am Nolan… Ex Tenebris.
